Past Work That Shaped Us
Projects, campaigns, and public work that helped shape the evolution of Native Daily Network
Following the Water Warriors, a Puyallup Tribe grassroots group, as they work to raise awareness and stop a fracked gas facility from being built on treaty protected tidelands in Tacoma, Washington.
Standing Rock led an indigenous resistance to an oil pipeline in 2016, on their lands. Our founder is a Standing Rock tribal member and sees our work covering the movement as formative to where we are today, as we helped amplify the answer to the question of why the movement existed in the first place, which was primarily as a responsibility to the water and the communities that might endure hardship if something goes wrong.
Following the Protectors of the Salish Sea, Native Daily Network helped amplify the call for a climate emergency declaration in Washington State, strengthening relationships between climate, Indigenous, and community organizations.
Climate Catastrophe Ground Zero brought together organizations around community-defined environmental priorities, demonstrating how lasting change comes through partnership, shared responsibility, and local leadership.
