Tacoma LNG

The fight against Tacoma LNG wasn’t a new one for the spuyaləpabš or “people from the bend at the bottom of the river,” and we were honored to stand in support of an incredible and inspiring tribal response.

We have compiled much of our raw footage into a documentary to give you a glimpse from inside the movement.  We hope that through this journey you learn something new and come away inspired.  Most importantly we hope it enhances your respect for the Puyallup Tribe and their deep connection to their land and waters.

The film, which was an official selection for the Gig Harbor Film Festival in 2022,  is now available in full on our YouTube channel

A tribe’s 170-year fight to survive continues as they stand up against a fracked gas facility on tribal waters, in the midst of unprecedented climate change.

The Puyallup Tribe signed the Medicine Creek Treaty in 1854 and like every other tribe in North America, they have had to continually fight for the inherent ways of life that are supposed to be guaranteed and protected by their treaty.

Community Feedback

Some of the feedback on our documentary and campaign work

Native Daily Network you honored the members of the Puyallup Tribe actively involved in the fight against the PSE LNG plant so beautifully. Today you shared us telling our own story. It hasn’t been an easy walk for any of us. This was such a selfless act of Love by you.

Creating this film was a testament of your commitment to documenting and shedding light on this monstrosity on the Tacoma tide flats. You have been on this walk with us. Our story is your story.

It’s a showing of your beautiful spirits to allow for others to be spotlighted. You took no shortcut in creating absolute perfection.

The film, produced by Standing Rock Sioux member Benita Moore and her British husband Darren, skillfully captures the spirit of the tribe’s 3-year fight against the plant.
